Is there anything more sustainable than building a watch from historic movements, some with existing parts, using traditional watchmaking techniques? We asked ourselves this question before reviving the Swiss watch brand ARLY since1947 from its slumber. Sustainability has become more of an issue for many than ever before, which also reflects our zeitgeist.
As a small, independent, owner-managed watch manufacturer, now also referred to as a microbrand, ARLY since1947 makes collectors' hearts beat faster.
Only historical Swiss and German movements from well-known watch movement manufacturers, such as Adolf Schild AS with the famous
An AS 1130 hand-wound movement, the so-called Wehrmacht caliber, also hand-engraved, a Peseux 330 with Geneva stripes or simply polished rhodium plating, and a Junghans SU6012, all three-hand watches housed in new, contemporary cases with modern technology and size. Automatic watches, such as the mother of all automatic movements, the AS 2062/2072 by Adolph Schild, are also offered for diving watches and pilot's watches. Single-hand watches with hand winding and automatic winding will soon be developed as a specialty.
The flagship of the ARLY collection is the BURGOS watch series. Chronograph movements such as the Venus 175, which was used by Breitling, Minerva, IWC, and Record, as well as the iconic Valjoux 23 column-wheel chronographs used by Rolex, Ulysée Nardin, Heuer, and many more, can be found here in extremely limited editions. These are collector's items of the future, as these movements have also been out of production for decades. ARLY Watch can also fulfill special requests when it comes to the finishing of the movements. Last but not least, matching straps made of high-quality deerskin, calfskin, Cordovan, and Louisiana crocodile are available.
Service is a top priority at ARLY since1947, and so we have sufficient spare parts, i.e. fittings, in stock for every caliber, which is very important for collectors and lovers of vintage watches.
